Realme has recently launched “REALME 5i”, which joins the other Realme 5 series smartphone including Realme 5, 5 pro & 5s. These three models have been a success in the market & realme has sold over 5.5 million units of this series.
Unboxing & first impression :
The box contains The Smartphone, charger, Micro USB cable & documents.
This 5i series comes with a new color variants i.e. Green & Aqua, which were absent in all the other smartphone of the Realme 5 series. The device though lacks the diamond cut design, which was present in the other smartphones of the series. What’s new is that the plastic back has ‘ridges’ The advantage of having them is that they would prevent the smartphone back from scratches. Talking about the In hand feel, the device feels great to hold. The phone looks tall & light while holding.

Battery size of the device is 5000 mAh, which ensures an easy battery life of 1.5 days. Though one important factor to consider is that the device doesn’t supports fast VOOC charging.
Multimedia review :
The video experience is overall great, the colors were saturated. while testing. The audio was loud & clear though it’s quality was avg. The screen of Realme 5i is sufficiently bright compared to other Realme smartphones. The device has Widevine L3 support not L1, though L1 isn’t required as the device brings in a HD display.
Camera review :
These are a few pics clicked on the Realme 5i AI quad camera. The camera quality is overall good & the colors are saturated. The smartphone supports gcam as well, which ensures camera to API support.
Gaming review :
The device houses a Soc 665 processor, which is powerful to enough to play heavy games like Pubg, TDM, etc. Though the processor doesn’t supports the working of Fortnite. Pubg works on medium graphics, though the gaming experience is superb. The game doesn’t lags & the device doesn’t heats up much.
I played Pubg on the device for a period of 40 min at medium graphics & the temperature of the device went up by just 5° – 6° C. & the battery went down from 100% to just 94%. Another great thing in the device is the presence of the Gaming mode, the gaming mode tray is extremely helpful for numerous functions right from call management to whatsApp, thus easing other activities as well.
My Opinion :
The device as priced at Rs. 9000 for the Indian market. And according to the specs & features investing on this device is basically a “bank for buck” deal, Given the camera specs, battery life & gaming experience. Always remember that the no.(quantity) of the specs mentioned doesn’t ensure great quality. The inner compatibility of the device softwares & system ensures the best performance.
Though the market has some other competitors of this device. I’ll try my best to provide you with the best option to go for in case of budget smartphones in my next blog.
